HeaTrace: A Parametric Design‐to‐Fabrication Workflow for Thermally Programmable Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A programmable thermal actuation workflow enables soft robots to be designed and fabricated with embedded heaters that drive multiple responses. By combining performance‐driven heater design with multimaterial fabrication, the system supports thermally triggered shape change, stiffness tuning, and thermochromic visual response, as demonstrated through ...

Acyclic orientations of a graph and chromatic and independence numbers

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series B, 1979
AbstractThe determinations of chromatic and independence numbers of a graph are represented as problems in optimization over the set of acyclic orientations of the graph. Specifically χ = minω∈Ωkω and β0 = maxω∈Ωkω where χ is the chromatic number, β0 is the independence number, Ω is the set of acyclic orientations, lω is the length of a maximum chain ...

Productivity and Emissions in Italian Agriculture: A Farm‐Level Efficiency Analysis

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Achieving the European Union climate‐neutrality objectives requires metrics that jointly assess farm productivity and greenhouse gas emissions at a granular level. However, harmonized evidence for benchmarking the productivity–emissions nexus of Italian farms remains limited.

Fluorescent Colored Passive Radiative Cooling Based on Carbon Dots for Cooling Power Recovery

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
We demonstrate colored passive radiative coolers consisting of a highly reflective porous ceramic base covered by an eco‐friendly luminescent carbon dot‐polymer composite, with two types of carbon dots enabling conversion of either ultraviolet or visible light, respectively.

Induced subgraphs of graphs with large chromatic number. XI. Orientations

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2019
Fix an oriented graph H, and let G be a graph with bounded clique number and very large chromatic number. If we somehow orient its edges, must there be an induced subdigraph isomorphic to H? Kierstead and Rodl raised this question for two specific kinds of digraph H: the three-edge path, with the first and last edges both directed towards the interior;
