Snap‐Through–Driven Liquid Crystal Elastomers for High‐Power Remote Microneedle Actuation Toward Smart Livestock Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A magnetically assisted snap‐through liquid crystal elastomer transforms photochemical deformation into a high‐power mechanical impulse, enabling remote microneedle actuation and highlighting its potential for future smart livestock intervention systems.

Orienting planar graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1976
AbstractIt is shown that every maximal planar graph (triangulation) can be contracted at an arbitrary point (by identifying it with an adjacent point) so that triangularity is preserved. This is used as a lemma to prove that every triangulation can be (a) oriented so that with three exceptions every point has indegree three, the exceptions having ...

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

An Efficient Graph-Based Spatio-Temporal Indexing Method for Task-Oriented Multi-Modal Scene Data Organization

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2018
Task-oriented scene data in big data and cloud environments of a smart city that must be time-critically processed are dynamic and associated with increasing complexities and heterogeneities. Existing hybrid tree-based external indexing methods are input/

Orientable Burning Number of Graphs

open access: yesDiscrete Applied Mathematics
In this paper, we introduce the problem of finding an orientation of a given undirected graph that maximizes the burning number of the resulting directed graph. We show that the problem is polynomial-time solvable on Kőnig-Egerváry graphs (and thus on bipartite graphs) and that an almost optimal solution can be computed in polynomial time for perfect ...

Arbitrary Orientations of Hamilton Cycles in Oriented Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2011
We use a randomised embedding method to prove that for all $\alpha>0$ any sufficiently large oriented graph $G$ with minimum in-degree and out-degree $\delta^+(G),\delta^-(G)\geq (3/8+\alpha)|G|$ contains every possible orientation of a Hamilton cycle. This confirms a conjecture of Häggkvist and Thomason.

Biomimetic Vascular Scaffold with Seamless Electrospun Aligned Nanofiber Conduit and 3D‐Printed Coil Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a new fabrication method that overcomes the current limitation of tubular gap electrospinning. We successfully fabricated a seamless hollow tube with fibers aligned along the longitudinal axis in diameters as small as 300 µm, and then reinforced it using 4‐axis 3D printing.

Caterpillars Have Antimagic Orientations

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2018
An antimagic labeling of a directed graph D with m arcs is a bijection from the set of arcs of D to {1, …, m} such that all oriented vertex sums of vertices in D are pairwise distinct, where the oriented vertex sum of a vertex u is the sum of labels of ...

A Lightweight, 3D‐Printable, Low‐Cost, “One‐Click” Dorsal Skin Window for High‐Quality Long‐Term Multimodal Subcutaneous Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative, lightweight 3D‐printed skinfold chamber system is presented for long‐term intravital imaging. This affordable, biocompatible platform simplifies surgical implantation and allows high‐resolution, multimodal visualization of the tumor microenvironment for up to four weeks.
