Miller Fisher syndrome related to Orientia tsutsugamushi infection
Journal of Clinical Neuroscience, 2014Miller Fisher syndrome is typically associated with a preceding infection, especially with Campylobacter jejuni. We describe a patient with Miller Fisher syndrome following Orientia tsutsugamushi infection, which to our knowledge has not been previously reported.

Biology of Orientia tsutsugamushi
2016Orientia tsutsugamushi is an intracellular, Gram-negative bacterium belonging to order Rickettsiales and is the causative agent of scrub typhus. The organism is transmitted to human host by chiggers; the larval stage of trombiculid mites and transovarial transmission is thought to be the only mechanism for its maintenance in the mites.
