Abstract The presently most densely sampled molecular phylogeny of the widespread New World subtribe Gonolobinae is presented, including about 35% of the ca. 520 species. Sampling focused on an even representation of the three main areas of total Gonolobinae distribution, South America, Central/North America, and the West Indian Islands, and the ...

Abstract The Island Mass Effect (IME) in tropical regions remains understudied, despite its potential to fertilize oligotrophic oceanic gyres and impact on higher trophic levels. Guadeloupe provides an ideal case study of IME due to its diverse nutrient sources, dual exposure to the Caribbean Sea on the western coast and Atlantic Ocean on the eastern ...

Impacts of Low‐Level Jets on Moisture Transport to the Pantanal, Brazil
The moisture transports from the tropics to the subtropics by the low‐level jets (LLJs) east of the Andes crossing the Pantanal region. Four LLJs, east of the Andes, were identified and selected with correspondent Lagrangian moisture transport. The LLJ moisture source regions contribute to Pantanal (~63.5%) and precipitation increased (~30%) during LLJ

Solar and Wind Energy Variability in Tropical South America: Seasonal Ocean‐Atmospheric Modulators
Climate variability affects renewable energy production and thus considering it in planning is essential for achieving sustainable development. We present how climate (ocean‐atmospheric) variability modes modulate wind and solar radiation variability, thereby influencing renewable power generation in tropical South America. El Niño/Southern Oscillation

Abstract Limitations in the temporal resolution of contemporary gravity satellite missions hinder the precise monitoring of rapid Earth surface mass changes. By the early 2030s, unprecedented high‐temporal monitoring of Earth's dynamic mass redistribution will be available using the temporal gravity field derived from the Hybrid Gravity Satellite ...
