Reconstitution of Methionine Cycle With ATP Regeneration for Whole‐Cell Catalysis of Creatine Production in Engineered Escherichia coli

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2025.
In this study, we constructed a CR biosynthesis pathway in E. coli by introducing exogenous AGAT and GAMT. We integrated the reconstitution methionine cycle with a polyphosphate kinase‐based ATP regeneration system, achieving a CR titre of 5.27 g/L with a productivity of 0.22 g/L/h.

DataSheet_5_Genome and transcriptome-wide study of carbamoyltransferase genes in major fleshy fruits: A multi-omics study of evolution and functional significance.csv

open access: yes, 2022
The carbamoyltransferase or aspartate carbamoyltransferase (ATCase)/ornithine carbamoyltransferase (OTCase) is an evolutionary conserved protein family, which contains two genes, ATCase and OTCase. The ATCase catalyzes the committed step in the synthesis

Unraveling the Amino Acid Synthesis in Maturity Sesame Seeds Based on the Integrative Analysis of Transcriptome and Metabolome

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 2, Page 775-788, March 2025.
Modules for Glutathione metabolism, Arginine biosynthesis, Proline and Tyrosine synthesis, as well as candidate genes regulating the amino acid production and metabolism, were discovered using weighted gene co‐expression network studies. As a result of the differential expression of genes in the amino acids pathway, the content of Glu, Arg, Pro and Tyr

On the Synthesis of Ornithine Carbamoyltransferase in Biotin-deficient Saccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1964
SUMMARY: Synthesis of ornithine carbamoyltransferase by yeast grown in a medium containing a suboptimal concentration of biotin was less than in biotinoptimal yeast and was diminished still further when l-aspartate was included in the biotin-deficient medium, although the presence of this amino acid is known to cause restoration of nucleic acid and ...

Transcriptomic and Metabolomic Insights Into the Prebiotic Potential of Camellia Seed Oil for Enhancing Akkermansia muciniphila Proliferation In Vitro

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2025.
Camellia seed oil is rich in bioactive compounds, which could promote the in vitro proliferation of Akkermansia muciniphila by reducing the oxidation–reduction potential of the media and activating the metabolism pathways involving energy and nucleic acid metabolism, protein synthesis, and environmental adaptation, thereby facilitating the nutrient ...

Integrated Transcriptomic and Metabolomic Analysis Elucidates the Impact of Acute Ammonia Stress on Carbohydrate and Lipid Metabolic Pathways in Yellow Catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco)

open access: yesAquaculture Nutrition, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Ammonia stress (AS) constitutes a significant environmental challenge that impedes aquaculture development. In this investigation, histomorphology assessments, physiological, and biochemical parameter analyses, and multiomics approaches were employed to elucidate the impact of acute AS on yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco).

Urea concentration and ornithine decarboxylase in liver of female rats

open access: yes, 1986
In virgin female rats thioacetamide administration (1 mg/100 g body wt) induced a 16-fold increase in liver ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) activity and a significant decrease (19%) in hepatic urea concentration.

Investigation of Ornithine Carbamoyltransferase as a Biomarker of Liver Cirrhosis

open access: yesInternal Medicine, 2014
Ornithine carbamoyltransferase (OCT) is a liver-specific mitochondrial matrix enzyme and potential biomarker of liver fibrosis. This study investigated the OCT levels in patients with chronic liver disease with or without cirrhosis in order to assess the usefulness of OCT as a biomarker of cirrhosis. The subjects included 440 Japanese patients with ...
