The Preparation of orosomucoid from Nephrotic Urine
Preparative Biochemistry, 1982A gel chromatographic and ion exchange procedure is described for the preparation of orosomucoid from nephrotic urine. The removal of endogenous lipid and glycosaminoglycan than yields a highly homogeneous preparation. Aggregates are formed at ambient temperatures and as a result of lyophilisation of ultrafiltration.

Association between Orosomucoid Types and Cancer
Oncology, 2009Orosomucoid (ORM) is a polymorphic acute-phase reactant with immunosuppressive properties. Previous investigations have suggested that ORM and other acute-phase reactants may act as blocking factors protecting tumor cells against immunological attack, thereby contributing to the ‘immune escape’ of the tumor.

Orosomucoid: An update of immune function
Clinical Immunology Newsletter, 1987Orosomucoid (Om), a major alphalglobulin, is a glycoprotein of approximately 40,000 kD molecular weight. This protein is very acidic in nature and contains as high as 45% of carbohydrates (10), thus also referred to as alphal-acid glycoprotein (AGP). Orosomucoid is an acute phase reactant, since its plasma concentration is markedly elevated in several ...

AbstractGenetic variation of orosomucoid (ORM) in the genus Macaca was investigated Plasma samples were subjected to isoelectric focusing in a pH range of 4–6.5, followed by immunoprinting with anti‐human ORM antibodies. A total of 25 allele were identified in 231 Asian macaques belonging to 13 species from 23 population and 22 members belonging to a ...

Chromatographia, 1994
The accessibility of the surface of human orosomucoid to monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) was investigated by size-exclusion HPLC to examine the validity of its proposed membership in the lipocalin family. The N-terminus half of the molecule contains all the five glycan chains, and of fifty-six MAbs, only one bound to this piece of the polypeptide backbone,

Orosomucoid Types in Allergic Contact Dermatitis
Human Heredity, 1995Orosomucoid (ORM) is an immunosuppressive acute-phase reactant controlled by two different loci: ORM1 and ORM2. In previous studies, the ORM1 1 type has been found to be associated with psoriasis and sarcoidosis, presumably by influencing the progression and clinical course of these disorders.

Preparation of Orosomucoid (α1-Acid Seromucoid)
Nature, 1962WEIMER et al.1 developed the process used mostly to isolate seromucoid acid from sera. But the salting out with ammonium sulphate results in the protein precipitate appearing with 60–70 per cent sulphate and this is carried away. While performing experiments on precipitation and denaturation of serum proteins by phenol with high concentrations of salt2,

Orosomucoid as the accelerator of hepatic fibrosis.
British journal of experimental pathology, 1987The administration of orosomucoid to rats with chronic liver injury accelerated hepatic fibrosis. An increase of hepatic fibres was seen histologically and the content of hydroxyproline in the liver collagen fraction increased. Moreover, the incorporation of 3H-proline into the collagen fraction of injured liver was increased by the administration of ...
