Matroidal Entropy Functions: A Quartet of Theories of Information, Matroid, Design, and Coding

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
In this paper, we study the entropy functions on extreme rays of the polymatroidal region which contain a matroid, i.e., matroidal entropy functions. We introduce variable strength orthogonal arrays indexed by a connected matroid M and positive integer v

Advanced Electron Microscopy and Microcomputed Tomography Analysis of Single‐Crystal Ni‐Base Superalloys After Short‐Term Multiaxial Creep

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work studies the anisotropic behavior of circular notched tensile specimens of Ni‐base superalloy single crystals during high‐temperature tensile creep along [001], [110], and [111]. Correlative scale‐bridging imaging of specimens reveals early rupture along [110] because 1) plastic deformation proceeds faster at notch center; 2) more (brittle ...

Application of Taguchi Method in Design of Surface Eddy Current Probes for Diagnostics of Power Equipment [PDF]

open access: yesProblems of the Regional Energetics
The article’s aim is to create a method of reducing the influence on the surface eddy current probes output signal of a number of interfering parameters without their elimination, to ensure its stability, which is achieved as a result of computer search

Efficient Energy Conversion through Vortex Arrays in the Turbulent Magnetosheath

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Turbulence is often enhanced when transmitted through a collisionless plasma shock. We investigate how the enhanced turbulent energy in the Earth's magnetosheath effectively dissipates via vortex arrays.

On existence and number of orthogonal arrays

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1988
The authors show that for significantly large \(\lambda\) an orthogonal array \(A_ t(v,k,\lambda)\) exists for all (v,k,\(\lambda\),t) and that a signed orthogonal array \(SA_ t(v,k,t)\) exists for all (v,k,\(\lambda\),t), \(k\geq t\). As in \textit{N. M. Singhi} and \textit{S. S. Shrikhande} [A reciprocity relation for t-designs, Eur. J. Comb.

Intrinsic Photoactive Star ZnPc–Poly(glutamate) Nanoplatforms for Multimodal Glioblastoma Therapy and Brain‐Targeted Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An intrinsic photoactive star‐shaped zinc phtalocyanine‐poly(L‐glutamic acid) (ZnPc‐PGA) nanoplatform for multimodal glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and brain‐targeted elivery. A ZnPc‐PGA‐based multifunctional theranostic nanocarrier platform enables image‐guided, multimodal GBM therapy. ZnPc‐PGA nanocarriers support the integration of fluorescence imaging,

Locating Arrays with Mixed Alphabet Sizes

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
Locating arrays (LAs) can be used to detect and identify interaction faults among factors in a component-based system. The optimality and constructions of LAs with a single fault have been investigated extensively under the assumption that all the ...

Wi-Fi Access Point Design Concept Targeting Indoor Positioning for Smartphones and IoT

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Indoor positioning systems (IPS) have been regarded as essential for many applications, particularly for smartphones, during the past decade. With the internet of things (IoT), and especially device-to-device (D2D) cases, the client is supposed to have a

Memristor‐Driven Active‐Matrix Organic Light‐Emitting Diode for Energy Efficient and High‐Resolution Displays

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that memristors can replace conventional 2T–1C driving circuits with simplified 1T–1 m architectures by exploiting resistance switching. With ultra‐low switching voltages (< ±0.2 V) and multi‐level resistance states, the memristors precisely control the current injected into organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs).
