Fairness in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing optical networks

Journal of High Speed Networks, 2014
Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) optical networks allow multiple subcarriers to be allocated so that both subwavelength and superwavelength traffic can be accommodated. The success of OFDM is based on routing and spectrum allocation, and fairness in this allocation is an important factor in guaranteeing customer satisfaction.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM)

2004
Almost from the beginning of the electrical transmission of messages about 100 years ago, single-carrier methods have been used for transmitting information. The message to be transmitted is impressed on a sinusoidal carrier by applying analog amplitude, frequency or phase modulation techniques.

Adaptive Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Schemes [PDF]

open access: possible, 1998
This paper investigates the upper-bound performance of subband-adaptive Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission in a time-dispersive channel and the feasibility of blind modulation scheme detection algorithms not requiring modulation scheme signalling information.
