Unraveling the Electronic Structure of Silicon Vacancy Centers in 4H‐SiC
The electronic structure of the silicon vacancy in 4H‐SiC is probed via transient absorption spectroscopy, uncovering previously inaccessible excited states of the quartet and doublet spin channels, including the V2' transition. In combination with theoretical analysis, a comprehensive picture of the electronic structure is established.

Orthogonal Time-Frequency-Space (OTFS) and Related Signaling
The principle of orthogonal time-frequency-space (OTFS) signaling is firstly analyzed, followed by explaining that OTFS embeds another signaling scheme referred to as orthogonal short-time Fourier (OSTF). Then, the relationship among OTFS, OSTF, orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and single-carrier frequency-division multiple-access (SC ...

Performance of Broadband Multicarrier DS-CDMA using Space-Time Spreading-Assisted Transmit Diversity
In this contribution multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (MC DS-CDMA) using space–time spreading (STS)-assisted transmit diversity is investigated in the context of broadband communications over frequency-selective Rayleigh-fading ...

Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...

Due to their superior performance and moderate computational complexity, quasi‐orthogonal space–frequency block codes (QOSFBCs) and quasi‐orthogonal space–time–frequency block codes (QOSTFBCs) are among prime candidates for implementation in multiple‐input multiple‐output communications systems.

Maximum likelihood receivers for space-time coded MIMO systems with gaussian estimation errors [PDF]
Maximum likelihood (ML) receivers for space-time coded multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with Gaussian channel estimation errors are proposed. Two different cases are considered. In the first case, the conditional probability density function

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

OTFS technology research and prospect
Recently, a new multi-carrier modulation technique termed orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) was proposed. In the OTFS modulation, the data symbols are modulated at the delay-Doppler plane and spread on all the time-frequency resource elements with ...
