Comparison of the effectiveness of visual acuity measurements for amblyopia screening at the age of 36 and 45 months and difference in severity of amblyopia detected

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 103, Issue 7, Page 799-811, November 2025.
Abstract Purpose Efficiency of visual screening using visual acuity measurement (VAM) in children screened at 45 months of age (45 m) and screened at both 36 months of age (36 m) and 45 m was investigated by determining failure, repeat and referral rates and amblyopia detection.

Individuals with severe visual field loss from stroke and glaucoma could have on‐road driving safety comparable to normally sighted drivers

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 103, Issue 7, Page 842-849, November 2025.
Abstract Background Vision is a critical component of safe driving, yet establishing effective legal vision requirements for driver licensing remains challenging. Current EU regulations mandate minimum standards for visual acuity and visual fields, but also allow exemptions based on practical driving tests.
