Practical SAR orthorectification
IGARSS '96. 1996 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2002SAR orthorectification procedures have been implemented at major processing facilities for several years, but only recently has workstation computer speed increased to a level where it is now practical for the SAR researcher to have their own orthorectification capability in-house.

A comprehensive study on urban true orthorectification
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2005To provide some advanced technical bases (algorithms and procedures) and experience needed for national large-scale digital orthophoto generation and revision of the Standards for National Large-Scale City Digital Orthophoto in the National Digital Orthophoto Program (NDOP), this paper presents a comprehensive study on theories, algorithms, and methods

Optical design using image distortion for orthorectification
Applied Optics, 2020Imaging the curved Earth from above typically results in a distorted image with reduced spatial resolution near the edge of the field. The effect is proportional to the field of view (FOV) and altitude. It is similar to the negative (barrel) distortion common in fish-eye lenses, but is due here to the convex object and not the optical system.

Orthorectification of EROS A1 images
IEEE/ISPRS Joint Workshop on Remote Sensing and Data Fusion over Urban Areas (Cat. No.01EX482), 2002This paper describes the development of a method for the geometric correction of imagery from the EROS A1 satellite. The correction method is based on a rigorous orbital/attitude model. The result from testing the method demonstrates the possibility to orthorectify EROS A1 scenes to sub-pixel accuracy.

A hardware implementation of an orthorectification process
2015 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON), 2015This paper presents a hardware implementation of an image orthorectification process using the back-projection algorithm. Image orthorectification is integral to effective analysis and exploitation of aerial imagery and is often one of the largest processing bottlenecks.

Parallel Large-Scale Image Processing for Orthorectification
TENCON 2018 - 2018 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2018Recently, as the amount of data that needs to be processed is getting larger, various techniques of parallel processing have been developed to deal with large-scale data efficiently and quickly. In this paper, we shall present fast parallel orthorectification algorithms for large-scale image data on various environments, and compare their performance ...

Orthorectification of 1960s satellite photographs covering Greenland
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2002This article presents a rigorous, high-precision model for geometric orthorectification of declassified intelligence satellite photography (DISP) imagery for the generation of a seamless, full-coverage mosaic of the Greenland ice sheet. This model integrates the bundle adjustment method and satellite orbital parameters, solving for interior orientation

Fast orthorectification for satellite images using patch backprojection
IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004The most rigorous way to register a remotely sensed image with a topomap or a relevant spatial data layer is performing orthorectification for the image. The focus of this investigation is to establish a fast orthorectification procedure for satellite images using a proposed "patch backprojection" method.

Stream Model-Based Orthorectification in a GPU Cluster Environment
IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2014One of the most important tasks in remote sensing data processing is the production of orthorectified images. Such tasks are computationally intensive and can become a bottleneck for remote sensing image processing, particularly in high-throughput environments, such as large satellite imagery processing centers.

Accuracy evaluation orthorectification of SPOT image
International Conference on ICT for Smart Society, 2013Orthorectification in the study conducted on 14 scene multispectral imagery SPOT4 SPOT2 and West Java. The composition of the scene to form a wide block with no gaps, making it possible to do block triangulation. This triangulation is used to determine the relationship between the satellite image and the earth.
