A 64-bit quadratic approximation of an orthorectification algorithm
2016 IEEE National Aerospace and Electronics Conference (NAECON) and Ohio Innovation Summit (OIS), 2016Aerial image orthorectification is a useful tool that is currently being applied to many applications. However, orthorectification is a computationally complex algorithm that requires parallelization, interpolation, and divisions. When dealing with onboard processing of aerial imagery for real-time feedback, another constraint arises, power consumption.

Orthorectification of Sich-2 satellite images using elastic models
2014 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2014In this paper, a new method for automatic identification of ground control points (GCPs) on optical remote sensing images is presented. An elastic Radial Basis Function (RBF) neural network based model for nonlinear coordinate transformation and image rectification is proposed.

Exploring the Novice Approach to Orthorectification of Satellite Imagery
2020Orthorectification plays vital role in satellite image processing. This process imposes challenges due to the dynamism in capturing environment, capturing unit, satellite rotation, sensors parameters and overlying regions on earth. The required geometric modelling needs an accurate estimation of Ground Control Points (GCPs) and their processing.

Orthorectification of an Ikonos panchromatic image
2001Satellite images are used since a lot of time in remote sensing. Several and various information and applications derive from remote sensing data: agriculture monitoring and analysis, land's humidity, pits and dumps location, coast pollution estimation, small and medium cartography scale, and many other else.

Digital orthorectification of space shuttle coastal ocean photographs
International Journal of Remote Sensing, 1997Abstract Causes of geometric distortion in space shuttle imagery of targets on the Earth's surface are analysed. A mathematical model formulating the geometric distortion caused by the incidence angle and the local azimuth angle are derived, and the corresponding image processing scheme for orthorectification is developed.

Practical orthorectification of system corrected satellite images and its validation
2012 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2012Ortho-rectification of satellite imagery from original data was impossible for general users, but it is not so difficult from the system corrected data if we can obtain appropriate information about orbit trajectory on the earth. In this paper we derive the exact formulation of relief displacement due to surface elevation and propose a practical method

Modeling orthorectification and PSF distortions on a HEALPix grid
The quality of analysis-ready Earth Observation (EO) products strongly depends on the ability of the processing chain to accurately model the mapping from the Earth’s surface to the detector geometry. This mapping involves a convolution with the instrumental Point Spread Function (PSF) and an orthorectification step that corrects for terrain-induced ...Pablo Richard +3 more
