, 2012 This paper presents a novel method to segment/decode DNA sequences based on n-gram statistical language model. Firstly, we find the length of most DNA “words” is 12 to 15 bps by analyzing the genomes of 12 model species.

A framework linking silicon fertilisation, plant silicification and soil carbon cycling
PLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.Soil organic carbon (SOC) is vital for soil health, food security, and climate change mitigation. We reviewed how silicon (Si) fertilisers, commonly used to improve plant health, may also influence SOC dynamics. We developed a framework linking Si and SOC and discussed the possibility of Si‐mediated plant changes contributing to SOC sequestration.
