Efficacy of Ozone Against the Life Stages of Oryzaephilus mercator (Coleoptera: Silvanidae)
Journal of Economic Entomology, 2017Ozone is a highly oxidizing gas with insecticidal activity and it is a potential alternative to conventional fumigants, such as phosphine and methyl bromide, for managing stored product insects. Susceptibility of the merchant grain beetle, Oryzaephilus mercator (Fauvel; Coleoptera: Silvanidae), an important pest of stored products, to ozone treatments ...

Plants as Potential Repellent Against Oryzaephilus Species
2019Storedfood pests are a perennial problem in storage facilities and retail storeswhere they infest and contaminate on a variety of products including grainproducts, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, dried meats, and in fact, almost all plantproducts that were used as human foods. The utilization ofsynthetic pesticides as the main strategy to control food pests

Malathion for the control of Oryzaephilus surinamensis in stored oats
Journal of Stored Products Research, 1974Abstract Malathion was applied at an overall dosage of 8 or 12 ppm to layers of stored oats transferred with an auger to small bins of 12·3 metric tons capacity. The oats were heating (35–40°C) and were heavily infested (231 insects/kg) with Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.). Malathion controlled the infestation at 12 ppm but not at 8 ppm. A bin of 10·8

Dietary alanine and proline requirements of the beetle, Oryzaephilus surinamensis
Journal of Insect Physiology, 1968Abstract The saw-toothed grain beetle, Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.), was reared to the adult stage on chemically defined diets at 32± 2°C and 75 ± 5 per cent r.h. Dietary alanine and dietary proline were dispensable for survival and rate of development of this insect, when arginine was included at optimal concentration (9·0 mg/g) in the diet.
