Constant Frequency Oscillators*
Bell System Technical Journal, 1931The manner in which the frequency of vacuum tube oscillators depends upon the operating voltages is discussed. The theory of the dependence is derived and is shown to indicate methods of causing the frequency to be independent of the operating voltages. These methods are applied in detail to the more commonly used oscillator circuits. Experimental data

Characterization of Constant Flow-Driven Microfluidic Oscillator
Journal of Microelectromechanical Systems, 2020Development of microfluidic circuits that are analogous to electronic circuits is useful because of their potential to drastically reduce dynamic off-chip controllers. In microfluidic circuits, a microfluidic oscillator that converts constant input to pulsatile output is the key component.

Analysis and synthesis of piecewise-constant oscillators
The 2004 47th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2004. MWSCAS '04., 2004In this paper, piecewise constant systems whose vector fields are piecewise constant, namely that the righthand side of the state equation is piecewise constant, are considered. Because of piecewise-constant characteristics, the states move proportionally to time except at the moment that vector fields switches, and the trajectories are piecewise ...

Inertia Estimation Based on Observed Electromechanical Oscillation Response for Power Systems
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2019The inertia constant is a key parameter of synchronous grids that are robust to disturbances. This paper presents an inertia estimation method for a multi-area interconnected electric power system.

Piecewise-constant oscillators and their applications
2016The analysis of nonlinear phenomena in continuous-time dynamics is one of important topics in the field of engineering, and it has attracted many researchers in recent years. The researchers have tried to solve this problem by simplifying the nonlinear dynamics.

Noncommuting contractions of oscillators with constant force
Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 2006We find two noncommuting contractions of the Lie algebras u(N) and gl(N, ), realized as the symmetry algebras of N-dimensional isotropic harmonic and repulsive oscillators of spring constant k ∈ , with a constant force of magnitude f . The contraction limit to the symmetry algebra of the Ndimensional free system is (k, f ) → (0, 0). We take two paths

Asymmetric linear oscillator and fine-structure constant
Physics Letters A, 1988Abstract A detailed analysis of the quantum asymmetric harmonic oscillator leads us to argue a possible connection between the asymmetry of the system and electromagnetic interaction. This conjecture can be put in a quantitative form by deriving a numerical value remarkably close to that of the fine-structure constant.

Coupling constant analyticity for the anharmonic oscillator
Annals of Physics, 1970Abstract We study the analytic properties of the singular perturbation theory for p2 + x2 + βx4. We prove rigorously several of the properties of the energy levels, previously found by C. Bender and T. T. Wu using methods of unknown validity. In particular: (a) En(β) has a “global” third-order branch point at β = 0, i.e., any path of continuation ...

An Improvement in Constant-Frequency Oscillators
Proceedings of the IRE, 1939A simple oscillator circuit is described in which, by means of impedance transformation, the tube impedances are made small relative to those of the tuned circuit. As a result all frequency variations inherent in the tube are reduced by a factor of ten, or more.

Self-Oscillating Constant-Current Fluorescent Lamp Driver
2006 IEEE 24th Convention of Electrical & Electronics Engineers in Israel, 2006A high frequency AC current-sourcing driver that can feed electrical loads with a constant current that is independent of the load resistance is presented, analyzed and tested experimentally. The power source is a self-oscillating inverter that includes a resonant network and a Current Comparing and Toggling Circuit (CCTC) that is used to generate the ...
