Conditional oscillation of half-linear Euler-type dynamic equations on time scales
We investigate second-order half-linear Euler-type dynamic equations on time scales with positive periodic coefficients. We show that these equations are conditionally oscillatory, i.e., there exists a sharp borderline (a constant given by the ...

The heart rhythm is maintained by oscillatory changes in [Ca2+]. However, it has been suggested that the rapid drop in blood pressure that occurs with a slow decrease in [Ca2+] preceding early diastolic filling is related to the mechanism of rapid ...

Inducing self-motion illusions referred as vection are critical for improving the sensation of walking in virtual environments (VE). Adding viewpoint oscillations to a constant forward velocity in VE is effective for improving vection strength under ...

AC Oscillation of a Spin Soliton Driven by a Constant Force
The phenomena of AC oscillation generated by a DC drive, such as the famous Josephson AC effect in superconductors and Bloch oscillation in solid physics, are of great interest in physics.

The cosmological constant and oscillating metrics [PDF]
The presence of a cosmological constant, Lambda, in an action with higher powers of the curvature can produce rapidly oscillating metrics. We develop a perturbative approach for generating periodic solutions to the non-linear field equations for such actions based on a small amplitude expansion.

High-frequency oscillations of Newton’s constant induced by inflation [PDF]
We examine the possibility that an epoch of inflationary expansion induces high-frequency oscillations of Newton's constant, $G$. The effect occurs because inflation can shift the expectation value of a non-minimally coupled, Brans-Dicke-like field away from the minimum of its effective potential.

The paper belongs to the qualitative theory of half-linear equations which are located between linear and non-linear equations and, at the same time, between ordinary and partial differential equations.

Oscillation of nonlinear impulsive differential equations with piecewise constant arguments
Existence and uniqueness of the solutions of a class of first order nonlinear impulsive differential equation with piecewise constant arguments is studied. Moreover, sufficient conditions for the oscillation of the solutions are obtained.

A sharp oscillation criterion for a difference equation with constant delay
It is known that all solutions of the difference equation Δ x ( n ) + p ( n ) x ( n − k ) = 0 , n ≥ 0 , $$\Delta x(n)+p(n)x(n-k)=0, \quad n\geq0, $$ where { p ( n ) } n = 0 ∞ $\{p(n)\}_{n=0}^{\infty}$ is a nonnegative sequence of reals and k is a natural
