Selection of the Oscillation Mode in Multi-Mode Oscillators by Initializing the Cavity Signal

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 2019
We demonstrate a new method to select the oscillation mode in multi-mode oscillators with an instantaneous gain saturation. The method is based on initializing the cavity signal by feeding into the cavity an external signal for a duration that can be as short as the cavity delay.

Bursting Oscillations and Mixed-Mode Oscillations in Driven Liénard System

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2017
We report the existence of bursting oscillations and mixed-mode oscillations in a Liénard system when it is driven externally by a sinusoidal force. The bursting oscillations transit from a periodic phase to spiking trains through chaotic windows, as the control parameter is varied.

Modes of oscillation of a grounded grid cyclotron oscillator

Radio and Electronic Engineer, 1964
A linear analysis of a grounded-grid cyclotron oscillator considering the effect of all the important circuit elements is presented. It is shown that the oscillator may execute oscillations at one of the cyclotron-dee resonant frequencies and/or at one of the coupling transmission line frequencies. The conditions of excitation of these oscillations are

Mixed-Mode Oscillation Synchronization in Coupled Oscillators

2021
Numerous important physical and engineering systems exhibit coupled oscillators connected in such a way that energy can be transferred between them. Then there are interactions amongst the different oscillating components of a given system. For instance, atoms oscillate around their equilibrium positions, and the interaction between atoms is ...

Multiple modes of a conditional neural oscillator

Biological Cybernetics, 1990
We present a model for a conditional bursting neuron consisting of five conductances: Hodgkin-Huxley type time- and voltage-dependent Na+ and K+ conductances, a calcium activated voltage-dependent K+ conductance, a calcium-inhibited time- and voltage-dependent Ca++ conductance, and a leakage Cl- conductance. With an initial set of parameters (version S)

Characteristics of an Nd:CaLaSOAP mode-locked oscillator

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1973
Neodymium doped CaLaSOAP has properties intermediate between Nd:YAG and Nd:Glass that make it desirable for use as a pulsed-mode-locked oscillator at 1.06 µ. Time resolve spectroscopy, high speed image converter streak recordings, and two photon flourescence pulse duration measurements were used to investigate the output of such a laser. Pulse duration

The Study of a Dual-Mode Ring Oscillator

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2011
An analytical investigation of a dual-mode ring oscillator is presented. The ring oscillator is designed using a CMOS 0.18-μm technology with differential eight-stage delay cells employing auxiliary input devices. With a proper startup control, the oscillator operates in two different modes covering two different frequency bands.

On the oscillation mode of gas-filled micropores

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1985
Small pores in hydrophobic membranes trap gas when the membrane is immersed in aqueous media, and the resulting ‘‘gas bodies’’ may be used for studying biophysical effects of ultrasonic cavitation. In a previous study [D. L. Miller and W. L. Nyborg, J. Acoust. Soc. Am.
