In the last decades, a very important breakthrough has been brought in the elementary particle physics by the discovery of the phenomenon of the neutrino oscillations, which has shown neutrino properties beyond the Standard Model.

On the oscillation of species [PDF]
We describe a new class of BPS objects called magnetubes: their supersymmetry is determined by their magnetic charges, while their electric charges can oscillate freely between different species. We show how to incorporate these objects into microstate geometries and create BPS solutions in which the charge densities rotate through different U(1 ...

Oscillation and Oscillating Structures in Syntax
SummaryLinguistic expressions are very often indeterminate and have several possible readings. Syntactic indeterminacy may result from different underlying structures, from polysemous elements, or from so-called oscillation. Unlike the former two, oscillation cannot be reduced to one or more discrete interpretations in a given context, it is ...

The inverted harmonic oscillator problem is investigated quantum mechanically. The exact wave function for the confined inverted oscillator is obtained and it is shown that the associated energy eigenvalues are discrete and it is given as a linear function of the quantum number $n$.

Prominences are intriguing, but poorly understood, magnetic structures of the solar corona. The dynamics of solar prominences has been the subject of a large number of studies, and of particular interest is the study of prominence oscillations. Ground- and space-based observations have confirmed the presence of oscillatory motions in prominences and ...

GABA-enhanced collective behavior in neuronal axons underlies persistent gamma-frequency oscillations [PDF]
Gamma (30–80 Hz) oscillations occur in mammalian electroencephalogram in a manner that indicates cognitive relevance. In vitro models of gamma oscillations demonstrate two forms of oscillation: one occurring transiently and driven by discrete afferent ...

Finite oscillator models: the Hahn oscillator [PDF]
A new model for the finite one-dimensional harmonic oscillator is proposed based upon the algebra u(2)_ . This algebra is a deformation of the Lie algebra u(2) extended by a parity operator, with deformation parameter . A class of irreducible unitary representations of u(2)_ is constructed.

Frequency versus relaxation oscillations in a semiconductor laser with coherent filtered optical feedback [PDF]
We investigate the dynamics of a semiconductor laser subject to coherent delayed filtered optical feedback. A systematic bifurcation analysis reveals that this system supports two fundamentally different types of oscillations, namely relaxation ...
