Relaxation oscillations and frequency entrainment in quantum mechanics [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 102, 042213 (2020), 2017
Frequency entrainment of continuous-variable oscillators has to date been restrained to the weakly nonlinear regime. Here we overcome this bottleneck and extend frequency entrainment of quantum continuous-variable oscillators to arbitrary nonlinearities.

Associations of Cerebrospinal Fluid Orexin‐A, Alzheimer Disease Biomarkers, and Cognitive Performance

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACTObjectiveCerebrospinal fluid (CSF) orexin‐A has been suggested to be a biomarker of Alzheimer disease (AD). In both cognitively unimpaired healthy older adults and individuals with symptomatic AD, CSF orexin‐A is positively associated with CSF Aβ42, p‐tau181, and total tau (t‐tau) concentrations.

Oscillation death in coupled counter-rotating identical nonlinear oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 100, 022209 (2019), 2019
We study oscillatory and oscillation suppressed phases in coupled counter-rotating nonlinear oscillators. We demonstrate the existence of limit cycle, amplitude death, and oscillation death, and also clarify the Hopf, pitchfork, and infinite period bifurcations between them. Especially, the oscillation death is a new type of oscillation suppressions of

Stimulus-specific neuronal oscillations in orientation columns of cat visual cortex.

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 1989
In areas 17 and 18 of the cat visual cortex the firing probability of neurons, in response to the presentation of optimally aligned light bars within their receptive field, oscillates with a peak frequency near 40 Hz.

Cerebello‐Prefrontal Connectivity Underlying Cognitive Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2) is a hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorder, with motor and cognitive symptoms. The constellation of cognitive symptoms due to cerebellar degeneration is named cerebellar cognitive affective syndrome (CCAS), which has increasingly been recognized to profoundly impact patients' quality of life;

Cooperative dynamics in coupled systems of fast and slow phase oscillators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a coupled system of fast and slow phase oscillators. We observe two-step transitions to quasi-periodic motions by direct numerical simulations of this coupled oscillator system. A low-dimensional equation for order parameters is derived using the Ott-Antonsen ansatz.

Signal amplification by unidirectional coupling of oscillators [PDF]

open access: yes2013 Phys. Scr. 88 015010, 2014
We report our investigation on the input signal amplification in unidirectionally coupled monostable Duffing oscillators in one- and two-dimensions with first oscillator alone driven by a weak periodic signal. Applying a perturbation theory we obtain a set of nonlinear equations for the response amplitude of the coupled oscillators.

Neutrino Oscillations and Non-standard Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers of Physics, 2017
Current neutrino experiments measure the neutrino mixing parameters with an unprecedented accuracy. The upcoming generation of experiments will be sensitive to subdominant effects that can give information on the unknown neutrino parameters: the Dirac CP-

Abnormal Synchronization Between Cortical Delta Power and Ripples in Hippocampal Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Discriminating between epileptogenic and physiological ripples in the hippocampus is important for identifying epileptogenic (EP) zones; however, distinguishing these ripples on the basis of their waveforms is difficult. We hypothesized that the nocturnal synchronization of hippocampal ripples and cortical delta power could be used ...

Power oscillation coordination damping control strategy of DFIG for fault ride through after clearing the fault

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Wind turbines should have fault ride through capability, and also it can provide damping for the power grid by improving the control strategy. However, the currently corresponding control strategy is designed independent for the fault voltage through ...
