Simultaneous H2O:O2 Co‐Reactant Pulsing for Functional Property Control of Atomic Layer Deposited ZnO, TiO2, and Al2O3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Simultaneous H2O:O2 co‐pulsing in thermal ALD modulates surface hydroxylation to engineer nanovoids and properties in ZnO, TiO2, and Al2O3. The ligand‑dependent pathway promotes c‑axis‑textured ZnO, reduced‑crystallinity yet Ti4+‑preserved TiO2, and highly transparent, hydrophilic Al2O3, while lowering the refractive indices.

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Experimental Branching Fractions, Transition Probabilities, and Oscillator Strengths in Sm ii

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Branching fractions (BFs) of Sm ii for 71 lines from 12 excited levels ranging from 31,638.79 to 35,463.91 cm ^−1 were determined for the first time based on the Fourier transform spectra available from the National Solar Observatory database.

Light Switchable Ionic Conductivity of Arylazopyrazole Modified Polysiloxanes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We present a polysiloxane functionalized with a novel arylazopyrazole dye that undergoes reversible photoisomerization. Upon lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide addition and UV irradiation, the polymer exhibits a shift in tan(d) toward higher frequencies and enhanced ionic conductivity.

The Oscillator Strength of the Quantum Transitions in Multi-Resonant-Tunneling Structures Tours as Basic Elements of Quantum Cascade Lasers and Detectors in a Transverse Magnetic Field [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2014
Using the model of a closed resonant tunneling structure developed the theory of the electron energy spectrum and oscillator strengths of the quantum electronic transitions between energy levels of this nanostructure.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Cross‐Phase Modulation via Time‐Varying Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Time‐varying epsilon‐near‐zero metasurfaces are shown to enable cross‐phase modulation beyond conventional ENZ excitation. By engineering dual absorption bands and exploiting oblique ultrafast pumping, large and broadband frequency translations are achieved at low pump energies.
