Entering the Strong Coupling Regime in Conventional Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic solar cells convert light into fossil‐free energy, yet they still cannot compete with their silicon counterparts. Strong exciton‐photon coupling can ameliorate some properties of organic solar cells, but it requires additional mirrors that diminish light absorbance. Here, mirror‐free strong exciton‐photon coupling is implemented in conventional

Potential of carbon nanotube field effect transistors for analogue circuits

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2013
This Letter presents a detailed comparison of carbon nanotube field effect transistors (CNFETs) and metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) with special focus on carbon nanotube FET's potential for implementing analogue circuits in ...

Analytic Determination of the Critical Coupling for Oscillators in a Ring

open access: yes, 2009
We study a model of coupled oscillators with bidirectional first nearest neighbours coupling with periodic boundary conditions. We show that a stable phase-locked solution is decided by the oscillators at the borders between the major clusters, which ...

Coupled-Oscillators [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1993
AbstractModal coupling oscillation models for the stellar radial pulsation and coupled-oscillators are reviewed. Coupled-oscillators with the second-order and third-order terms seemed to behave non-systematically. Using the equation by Schwarzschild and Savedoff (1949) with the dissipation term of van del Pol’s type which is third-order, we demonstrate

Clean‐Limit 2D Superconductivity in a Thick Exfoliated Kagome Film

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports clean‐limit 2D superconductivity in a thick kagome system, analogous to the 3D case. It observes a drop in superfluid stiffness near the superconducting transition and a cusp‐like feature in the angular dependence of the upper critical field.

Fabrication of Wireless Micro Pressure Sensor Using the CMOS Process

open access: yesSensors, 2009
In this study, we fabricated a wireless micro FET (field effect transistor) pressure sensor based on the commercial CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) process and a post-process.

Creation and localization of entanglement in a simple configuration of coupled harmonic oscillators

open access: yes, 2009
We investigate a simple arrangement of coupled harmonic oscillators which brings out some interesting effects concerning creation of entanglement. It is well known that if each member in a linear chain of coupled harmonic oscillators is prepared in a ...

Enhancing the Photocatalytic Performance of Carbon Nitrides Through Controlled Local Structure Modification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work utilizes poly(heptazine imides) as a model system to demonstrate how fine‐tuning the crystal structure influences the photocatalytic properties of layered carbon nitrides in the hydrogen evolution reaction. In particular, the nature of rotational defects and the hydration shell of cations are key contributors to enhanced hydrogen evolution ...

Delay by Spin-Up of Captive Vortex

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Recent application of fluidics show increasing importance with respect to signals encoded in flow pulses, in oscillators as well as in closely related devices for correcting the distorted pulse shapes.
