Oscillation criteria for matrix differential equations with oscillatory coefficients

Annali Di Matematica Pura Ed Applicata, 1970
This paper considers the matrix differential equation Y″(x)+P(x)Y(x)=0 (and several generalizations) and establishes sufficient conditions for the existence of zeros of some of its solutions (in the sense that determinant Y(x)=0) when the coefficient P is « oscillatory ».

Oscillatory behavior of linear matrix Hamiltonian systems

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2007
AbstractWe establish some new oscillation criteria for the matrix linear Hamiltonian system X ′ = A (t)X + B (t)Y, Y ′ = C (t)X –A *(t)Y by using a new function class X and monotone functionals on a suitable matrix space. In doing so, many existing results are generalized and improved. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Extracellular Matrix and Oscillatory Mechanics of Rat Lung Parenchyma in Bleomycin-induced Fibrosis

American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, 1999
Abstract We investigated in vivo and in vitro oscillatory mechanics in bleomycin-induced fibrotic lungs and correlated these with morphometric changes in the collagen-elastin matrix and contractile cells. Fischer rats received bleomycin sulfate (BLEO,1.5 U) or saline intratracheally.

Newtonian drop in a Newtonian matrix subjected to large amplitude oscillatory shear flows

Rheologica Acta, 2004
The dynamics of a single Newtonian drop immersed in a Newtonian matrix subjected to large-amplitude oscillatory shear flow is investigated. The ratio of the drop and matrix viscosity is above criticality, and thus break-up is absent under constant shear flow. At small forcing amplitudes the drop shape follows a “regular” oscillation.

Responses of MSCs to 3D Scaffold Matrix Mechanical Properties under Oscillatory Perfusion Culture

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2017
Both fluid shear stress and matrix stiffness are implicated in bone metabolism and functional adaptation, but the synergistic action of these mechanical cues on the biological behaviors of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is still not well-known. In the present work, a homemade oscillatory flow device was applied to investigate the effects of matrix ...

Oscillatory networks with Hebbian matrix of connections

1995
The systems of symmetrically coupled limit cycle oscillators admit the design of recurrent associative memory networks with Hebbian matrix of connections. Unlike the similar neural networks this matrix proved to be the complex-valued Hermitian one with nonzero diagonal.

Matrix Theory of Oscillatory Networks

Journal of Applied Physics, 1939
Starting with the energy functions of a general, linear, bilateral, resistanceless, lumped network the canonical equations of the circuit are obtained. These equations are solved in a general form taking into account applied electromotive forces and initial charges and currents by a matrix multiplication process.
