Oscillatory magnetoresistance caused by oscillatory matrix element for scattering in Bechgaard salts
Synthetic Metals, 1987Abstract The small-period Shubnikov-de Haas-like oscillation of transverse magnetoresistance observed in the Bechgaard salts is clarified as due to oscillatory matrix elements for scattering of electrons between open-orbit states.

Several modes of mechanical stimulation, including compression, shear, and hydrostatic pressure, have been shown to modulate chondrocyte matrix synthesis, but the effects of mechanical tension have not been widely explored. Since articular cartilage is primarily loaded in compression, tension is not generally viewed as a major contributor to the stress

Oscillatory flows in a porous thermoelastic matrix due to earth tides
Geothermics, 1977Abstract Vertical motions of a viscous fluid in a permeable elastic or rigid matrix due to a periodic fluctuation in gravity are examined. Isothermal solutions for a deforming matrix, and non-isothermal solutions for a rigid matrix, are obtained for periods over the range of earth tides and for a wide range of physical parameters.

The development of a numerical technique for the treatment of two-dimensional non-similar, unsteady, laminar boundary layers is presented. The method is an extension to nonsteady flows of the integral matrix procedure of Kendall. Solutions of example problems are presented demonstrating good agreement with known classical results.

Oscillatory behavior in catalytic systems: Effect of a non-diagonal capacity matrix
Chemical Engineering Science, 1980The mechanism presented is modelled as a second order system dx/dt = F(x) with a non-diagonal capacity matrix. The model admits oscillatory solutions due to the interaction between the chemisorption capacities of the dynamic variables, even though no positive feedback is incorporated in the kinetic terms, that is ∂Fi/∂xi < 0.

In this work, nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations were performed to investigate the dispersion and spatial distribution of spherical nanoparticles (NPs) in polymer matrix under oscillatory shear flow. We systematically analyzed the influences of four important factors that consist of NP-polymer interfacial strength, volume fraction of NPs ...

The transverse magnetoresistance of quasi 10 conductors is shown to have a new effect of the title not originating in the orbital quantization like the Shubnikov-de Haas effect. The model band energy is a symplified version of Gor'kov-Leded's model. The eigen energy and wave function in the transverse magnetic field are obtained in the normal state and
