Boundedness of solutions to fourth-order differential equation with oscillatory restoring and forcing terms

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2007
This paper concerns the fourth order differential equation $$ x''''+ax'''+f(x'')+g(x')+h(x)=p(t). $$ Using the Cauchy formula for the particular solution of non-homogeneous linear differential equations with constant coefficients, we prove that the

Oscillations of differential equations with non-monotone deviating arguments

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
The oscillatory behavior of the solutions to a differential equation with several non-monotone arguments and nonnegative coefficients is studied, and some new oscillation criteria are given.

Critical Exponents and Stability at the Black Hole Threshold for a Complex Scalar Field

open access: yes, 1995
This paper continues a study on Choptuik scaling in gravitational collapse of a complex scalar field at the threshold for black hole formation. We perform a linear perturbation analysis of the previously derived complex critical solution, and calculate ...

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Oscillation analysis of numerical solutions for nonlinear delay differential equations of population dynamics

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2011
This paper is concerned with oscillations of numerical solutions for the nonlinear delay differential equation of population dynamics. The equation proposed by Mackey and Glass for a ”dynamic disease” involves respiratory disorders and its solution ...

Oscillatory and non-oscillatory solutions of dynamic equations with bounded coefficients

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2018
Summary: We analyze second-order half-linear dynamic equations on time scales. We prove oscillation and non-oscillation criteria which are sharp in the sense that the considered equations remain uncovered only for one setting of their coefficients. We continue in the research of the so-called conditional oscillation.

EXISTENCE OF OSCILLATORY SOLUTIONS OF FRACTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

open access: yesJournal of Applied Analysis & Computation
Summary: In this paper, we use Schauder-Tychonoff theorem to obtain a new sufficient condition for the global existence of oscillatory solutions for forced fractional delay differential equations.

Gyrokinetics from variational averaging: existence and error bounds

open access: yes, 2017
The gyrokinetic paradigm in the long wavelength regime is reviewed from the perspective of variational averaging (VA). The VA-method represents a third pillar for averaging kinetic equations with highly-oscillatory characteristics, besides classical ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

Hopf Bifurcation in an Oscillatory-Excitatory Reaction-Diffusion Model with Spatial heterogeneity

open access: yes, 2016
We focus on the qualitative analysis of a reaction-diffusion with spatial heterogeneity. The system is a generalization of the well known FitzHugh-Nagumo system in which the excitability parameter is space dependent.
