Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Moving gap solitons in periodic potentials

open access: yes, 2007
We address existence of moving gap solitons (traveling localized solutions) in the Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a small periodic potential. Moving gap solitons are approximated by the explicit localized solutions of the coupled-mode system.

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.

Asymptotic Properties of Neutral Differential Equations with Variable Coefficients

open access: yesAxioms, 2020
The aim of this work is to study oscillatory behavior of solutions for even-order neutral nonlinear differential equations. By using the Riccati substitution, a new oscillation conditions is obtained which insures that all solutions to the studied ...

A Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Block Diagram of the Robust Adaptive One‐Sample‐Ahead Preview Super‐Twisting Sliding Mode Controller. ABSTRACT This article introduces a discrete‐time robust adaptive one‐sample‐ahead preview super‐twisting sliding mode controller. A stability analysis of the controller by Lyapunov criteria is developed to demonstrate its robustness in handling both ...

Oscillation of solutions to second-order nonlinear differential equations of generalized Euler type

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
We are concerned with the oscillatory behavior of the solutions of a generalized Euler differential equation where the nonlinearities satisfy smoothness conditions which guarantee the uniqueness of solutions of initial value problems, however, no ...

Qualitative properties of solutions of certain fourth order linear differential equations

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1981
This work considers differential equations of the form (py″)′′+qy″+ry=0 where p,q and r are positive continuous functions defined on [0,∞). The main concentration is on the oscillatory and asymptotic behavior of the solutions.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Oscillation of solutions to second-order neutral differential equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
We study the oscillatory behavior of solutions to second-order neutral differential equations. We show that under certain conditions, all solutions are oscillatory.

Oscillations for an equation arising in groundwater flow with the relaxation time

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2011
Groundwater flow problems are mostly formulated by means of massbalance equation combined with Darcy's law. In this way, the flow is governed by a parabolic equation.
