A Mechanistic and Quantitative Understanding of the Interactions between SiO and Graphite Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 13, Issue 2, January 13, 2023., 2023
An electro–chemo–mechanical coupled model with a detailed geometric description is established to quantitatively reveal the underlying governing mechanisms of SiO/Graphite composite anodes using the half‐cell configuration. The effects of SiO weight percentages, SiO distributions, SiO sizes, and C‐rates on the battery performance are discussed.

Ecosystem benefits of adopting a whole‐site approach to MPA management

open access: yesFisheries Management and Ecology, Volume 29, Issue 6, Page 790-805, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Globally, nations are designating marine protected areas to recover and protect habitats and species. With targets to protect 30% of marine areas by 2030, the effectiveness of MPAs to protect designated space is important. In Lyme Bay (south‐west UK), two co‐located MPAs have each adopted different management styles to exclude mobile demersal ...

Guillain‐Barré syndrome and COVID‐19: A 1‐year observational multicenter study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 29, Issue 11, Page 3358-3367, November 2022., 2022
By showing an increase of Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) cases during the first two pandemic waves of coronavirus disease 19 (COVID‐19) in northern Italy and emphasizing that COVID‐19‐positive GBS patients represent about 50% of the total GBS cases, this study supports a relation between COVID‐19 and GBS. Physicians should keep in mind GBS as a possible

Recent trends in abundance and fishing pressure of agency‐assessed small pelagic fish stocks

open access: yesFish and Fisheries, Volume 23, Issue 6, Page 1313-1331, November 2022., 2022
Abstract Small pelagic fishes are used for human consumption, fishmeal and fish oil. They constitute 25% of global fish catch and have been of considerable conservation concern because of their intermediate position in aquatic food webs, often being a dominant dietary component of marine predators. This paper provides an overview of trends in abundance

Stereoselective Activation of Small Molecules by a Stable Chiral Silene

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 28, Issue 55, October 4, 2022., 2022
A novel cyclic and chiral silene was synthesized and fully characterized. The chiral (S)‐BINOL scaffold in the silene enabled unprecedented complete control over the diastereoselectivity in the reactions with different small molecules, S8, CO2 and HCl.

SPATIAL PROCESSING OF SENTINEL IMAGERY FOR MONITORING OF ACACIA FOREST DEGRADATION IN LAKE NAKURU RIPARIAN RESERVE [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2020
Tree degradation in National Parks poses a serious risk to the birds and animals and to a larger extent the general ecosystem. The essence of Forest degradation mapping is to detect the extent of damage on the trees over time, hence providing ...
