Críticas al arte digital: sustentos y límites teóricos

open access: yesArtnodes, 2021
En este artículo nos proponemos un acercamiento crítico al estado actual del arte digital, preguntándonos acerca de su valor y significado con respecto a la estética contemporánea y el sistema del arte. Considerando las propiedades del lenguaje numérico,

Effective fisheries management instrumental in improving fish stock status

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, 2020
Significance This article compiles estimates of the status of fish stocks from all available scientific assessments, comprising roughly half of the world’s fish catch, and shows that, on average, fish stocks are increasing where they are assessed.

Recurrent PAK2 rearrangements in poroma with folliculo‐sebaceous differentiation

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 83, Issue 2, Page 310-319, August 2023., 2023
Folliculo‐sebaceous poroma are small dermal tumours similar to eccrine poroma, but harbour ducts with frequent eosinophilic cuticles, infundibular cysts, and sparse sebocytes. Genetic investigation of the cases revealed recurrent fusion transcripts involving the PAK2 gene.

Drivers of behaviour and spatial ecology of the small spotted catshark (Scyliorhinus canicula)

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 443-457, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Shark populations have suffered dramatic declines across the world as a result of overfishing. Marine protected areas (MPAs) can help restore overfished populations; however, their effectiveness largely relies on understanding the ecology of the targeted species.

Distinct regulations driving YAP1 expression loss in poroma, porocarcinoma and RB1‐deficient skin carcinoma

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 82, Issue 6, Page 885-898, May 2023., 2023
Recently, YAP1 fusion genes have been demonstrated in eccrine poroma and porocarcinoma, resulting in YAP1 expression loss detectable by immunohistochemistry. In the present study, in addition to gene fusion mechanisms, we report that transcriptional repression of YAP1 can be observed in skin tumours with RB1 inactivation, including the majority of MCC ...

Exploring fishing threat at fleet segment and subregional scale: Least expert knowledge and a resilience versus disturbance‐based approach as conservation's tools for cartilaginous fish

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 13, Issue 3, March 2023., 2023
Based on a simplified and attempt, yet rigorous, elicitation framework, we obtained expert's estimations of a species' probability of being caught (fatally), at fishing fleet segment scale. Based on these estimates, we developed a creative method, structured to assess the fishing‐related risks for species of conservation concern.

Amorphization induced by pressure: results for zeolites and general implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We report an {\sl ab initio} study of pressure-induced amorphization (PIA) in zeolites, which are model systems for this phenomenon. We confirm the occurrence of low-density amorphous phases like the one reported by Greaves {\sl et al.} [Science {\bf 308}

A Mechanistic and Quantitative Understanding of the Interactions between SiO and Graphite Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 13, Issue 2, January 13, 2023., 2023
An electro–chemo–mechanical coupled model with a detailed geometric description is established to quantitatively reveal the underlying governing mechanisms of SiO/Graphite composite anodes using the half‐cell configuration. The effects of SiO weight percentages, SiO distributions, SiO sizes, and C‐rates on the battery performance are discussed.
