Single plate separation of lung phospholipids including disaturated phosphatidylcholine.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1983
We have developed an improved thin-layer chromatographic method for separation of lung phospholipids. Individual phospholipids are completely separated in the first dimension. All phospholipids, except phosphatidylcholine, are then removed.

Particle-size distribution of very low density plasma lipoproteins during fat absorption in man

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1966
The size distributions of electrophoretically isolated subfractions of the very low density human plasma lipoproteins have been determined using electron microscopy.

Essai d'un Nouveau Traitement dans I'Arthrite Septique du Genou: La synovectomy Chimiaue par le Tetroxide d Osmium (Rapport Preliminaire) [PDF]

open access: yesActa Medica Iranica, 1972
A chemical synovectomy by osmium tetroxide was done for 3 patients with septic arthritis of the knee joint. Antibiotics were given in the same time. The result was excellent and a total recovery obtained in 2 weeks.

Increased circulating adiponectin in response to thiazolidinediones: investigating the role of bone marrow adipose tissue

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2016
BACKGROUND: Bone marrow adipose tissue (MAT) contributes to increased circulating adiponectin, an insulin-sensitising hormone, during caloric restriction, but whether this occurs in other contexts remains unknown.

Synthesis of a sucrose dimer with enone tether; a study on its functionalization

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
The reaction of appropriately functionalized sucrose phosphonate with sucrose aldehyde afforded a dimer composed of two sucrose units connected via their C6-positions (‘the glucose ends’).

NR4A1 Exerts Pro‐Tumor Role in Glioblastoma via Inducing xCT/GPX4‐Regulated Ferroptosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study investigates NR4A1's paradoxical roles in glioblastoma (GBM) progression, focusing on its mechanistic link to ferroptosis regulation. We aimed to resolve conflicting reports of NR4A1 as both an oncogene and a tumor suppressor by defining its transcriptional control over xCT/GPX4‐mediated iron homeostasis and its clinical ...

ULTRASTRUCTURE OF HUMAN LEUKOCYTES AFTER SIMULTANEOUS FIXATION WITH GLUTARALDEHYDE AND OSMIUM TETROXIDE AND "POSTFIXATION" IN URANYL ACETATE

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 1968
Human leukocytes in suspension or in monolayer cultures have been processed for electron microscopy by fixation in a freshly made cold mixture of glutaraldehyde and osmium tetroxide and by "postfixation" in uranyl acetate.

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

An alternative technique to reveal polysaccharides in Toxoplasma gondii tissue cysts

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2003
Ultrathin sections of tissue cysts isolated from the brain of Toxoplasma gondii infected mice were submitted to two different methodologies derived from the periodic acid - Schiff's reagent (PAS) technique.

FIXATION OF NEURAL TISSUES FOR ELECTRON MICROSCOPY BY PERFUSION WITH SOLUTIONS OF OSMIUM TETROXIDE

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 1962
This paper describes in detail a method for obtaining nearly uniform fixation of the nervous system by vascular perfusion with solutions of osmium tetroxide.
