Reverse osmosis membrane of high urea rejection properties [PDF]
Polymeric membranes suitable for use in reverse osmosis water purification because of their high urea and salt rejection properties are prepared by generating a plasma of an unsaturated hydrocarbon monomer and nitrogen gas from an electrical source.

This paper contrasts electrospinning and 3D printing for porous membrane fabrication, evaluating their evolution, cost, resolution, mechanical traits, and scalability. While 3D printing excels in material diversity and industrial adaptability, electrospinning achieves finer resolution and thermal resilience.

Osmosis at constant volume and water uptake in tall trees [PDF]
We consider a thermodynamic state of a solvent and solution separated with an elastic semipermeable membrane in a box with a constant volume and the relevance of this simple model for the water uptake in tall trees. Under moderate concentrations of a solute, the solution and solvent are under the positive and negative pressure, respectively.

Bubble Printing of Anisotropic Clay Nanotubes
Bubble printing patterns of lyotropic liquid crystal nanotubes form toroidal or linear patterns depending on laser movement and colloidal stability. Long nanotubes create radial filament bundles, while poor electrostatic repulsion hinders deposition.

Co‐Solvent‐Aided Opto‐Thermophoretic Printing of Gold Nanorod Assemblies
A focused laser beam creates a thermal gradient, driving the gold nanorods and polymer coils toward the heated region of the glass substrate, i.e, the laser spot. After the adsorption of the polymer on the gold surface, the nanorods start to assemble onto the surface in a ring‐shaped pattern that grows radially until the beam is turned off.

Eugenic Ideology and Historical Osmosis [PDF]
Issues of inequity in education are plentiful, but too little attention has been paid to the origins of this inequity which is more tangible than has been acknowledged.

Carbonized Polymer Dots‐Based Spectrally Adaptable Photonic Microbarcodes
This study explores spectrally tunable photonics barcodes using carbonized polymer dots (CPDs) based on whispering gallery mode (WGM) photoluminescence. CPDs offer wavelength‐dependent emission from visible to near‐infrared (NIR), thereby enabling variable WGM emissions.

Hydrogels made of chemically modified biopolymers are easy to prepare and cost‐effective, they have proven to be effective materials for the simultaneous removal of seven potentially toxic elements (PTEs) from ultrapure and real water samples. The cellulose‐based one seems the best for single treatments while the gelatine‐based one seems the most ...
