Contact theorems for electrolyte-filled hollow charged nanoparticles: Non-linear osmotic pressure in confined electrolytes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Analytical expressions for the osmotic pressure of electrolytes confined within electrolyte-filled, hollow, charged nanoparticles are studied using contact theorems for cavity nanoshells immersed in a low-concentration electrolyte. Three shell geometries are considered: planar, cylindrical, and spherical.

Eosinophils‐Induced Lumican Secretion by Synovial Fibroblasts Alleviates Cartilage Degradation via the TGF‐β Pathway Mediated by Anxa1 Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.

Differences of Pine Wood Nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) Developmental Stages under High-Osmotic-Pressure Stress

open access: yesBiology
Under ion imbalance, water deficiency, and salt stress, the osmotic pressure of the tree sap increases, and pine wood nematodes (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, PWN) parasitizing in the trees may be subjected to high-osmotic-pressure stress.

Existence of a maximum flow rate in electro-osmotic systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this work, we investigate the effect of the hydrodynamic wall-fluid friction in electro-osmotic flows. First, we present the solution to the electro-hydrodynamic equation for the electro-osmotic velocity profile, which is derived for an ionic system composed of cations immersed in uncharged solvent particles.

IRF8 Drives Conventional Type 1 Dendritic Cell Differentiation and CD8+ T Cell Activation to Aggravate Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the critical role of IRF8 in the development of AAA. IRF8 activation promotes the differentiation of cDC1s, which in turn recruit and activate CD8+ T cells, contributing to aortic wall degradation. The study identifies the IRF8‐cDC1‐CD8+ T cell axis as a key pathway in AAA progression, offering new potential therapeutic targets to
