Osmotic Dehydration of Button Mushroom

open access: yesInternational Journal of Food and Fermentation Technology, 2015
Osmotic dehydration of button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) slices carried out done by dipping them in brine of different concentrations of salt (10%, 20% and 30%), mass ratios (1/10 and 1/25 w/w) solution at a temperature of 60°C, and duration of 30 minutes. With respect to water loss (WL) and salt gain (SG), with the increase in concentration of salt,

Biodegradable Acoustic Targeting for Ultrasound‐Supported Gene Therapy (BATUS) in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most challenging brain malignancies due to the restrictive nature of the blood–brain barrier (BBB), which severely limits effective drug and gene delivery. To overcome this, we introduce Biodegradable Acoustic Targeting for Ultrasound‐Supported Gene Therapy (BATUS), a modular platform that enables safe ...

Comparison of the kinetics of osmotic drying apples in sugar beet molasses and sucrose solutions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal on Processing and Energy in Agriculture, 2010
Osmotic dehydration of apple was carried out using sugar beet molasses and sucrose solutions in different concentrations (40.0%, 60.0% and 80.0% for sugar beet molasses; 30%, 50% and 70% for sucrose solutions), at constant temperature of 45°C, under ...

The influence of chokeberry juice and inulin as osmotic-enriching agents in pre-treatment on polyphenols content and sensory quality of dried strawberries

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 2019
The objective of this study was to explain the effect of osmotic dehydration pre-treatment (chokeberry juice or inulin) and drying method (microwave-convective drying or freeze-drying) on polyphenols content, antioxidant activity and sensory properties ...

Metagenomic Association Uncovers Host Genotype‐Structured Rhizobacterial Networks and Novel Taxa That Enhance Soybean Salt Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An STI‐guided metagenomic association framework links soybean salt‐tolerance phenotypes with rhizosphere microbiome composition and network organization in natural saline soils. The approach identifies candidate beneficial taxa, including Thalassospira xiamenensis, and provides an efficient strategy for mining stress‐protective microbes from native ...

Current Collector Engineering for New Efficient Bioresorbable Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioresorbable Na‐ion battery is proposed with Mo or Mg thin‐film current collectors for temporary implants. Mo‐based batteries exhibit superior electrochemical performance and stable cycling compared with Mg counterparts. XPS was used to investigate the Mo/Mg surface oxidation.

Oral Prebiotic Polysaccharide Hydrogels Sustaining Colon Antibody Release Alleviate Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An orally administered prebiotic polysaccharide hydrogel (predaGel) based on inulin and alginate‐dopamine is stable in the stomach, adheres to the intestine, and degrades slowly in the colon. It enables site‐specific delivery of anti‐TNF‐α and anti‐IL‐12/23 antibodies, scavenges reactive oxygen species, and remodels gut microbiota, offering effective ...

Osmotic Dehydration of Fruits

open access: yes, 2009
The need for increasing improvements in the quality of food products conducted to an increased interest in osmotic treatment. This technology involves the partial dehydration of a water-rich solid foodstuff, either whole or in pieces, through immersion in an osmotic solution.
