Equilibrium and Dynamic Osmotic Behaviour of Aqueous Solutions with Varied Concentration at Constant and Variable Volume

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
Osmosis is essential for the living organisms. In biological systems the process usually occurs in confined volumes and may express specific features.

A Supramolecular Material for Controlling Kiwifruit Bacterial Canker

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The matrine‐5‐methylsalicylic acid salt (MOS) is reported for its excellent antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae (Psa), with advanced cell membrane penetration ability and strong affinities for potential targets. Furthermore, a nanosupramolecular delivery system MOS@hydroxypropyl‐beta‐cyclodextrin (HPCD) with improved ...

Long-term decay of the water pressure in the osmotic tensiometer

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, 2023
Matric suction is an important state variable required for the assessment of unsaturated soil properties. Tensiometers are commonly used for direct matric suction measurement but have a limited measuring range up to 90 kPa due to the cavitation problem ...

Eosinophils‐Induced Lumican Secretion by Synovial Fibroblasts Alleviates Cartilage Degradation via the TGF‐β Pathway Mediated by Anxa1 Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.

IRF8 Drives Conventional Type 1 Dendritic Cell Differentiation and CD8+ T Cell Activation to Aggravate Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study highlights the critical role of IRF8 in the development of AAA. IRF8 activation promotes the differentiation of cDC1s, which in turn recruit and activate CD8+ T cells, contributing to aortic wall degradation. The study identifies the IRF8‐cDC1‐CD8+ T cell axis as a key pathway in AAA progression, offering new potential therapeutic targets to

Shape‐Selective Molecular Separations Enabled by Rigid and Interconnected Confinements Engineered in Conjugated Microporous Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conjugated microporous polymer membranes with narrowly distributed network pores are prepared by diffusion‐modulated electropolymerization. This approach precisely controls the monomer diffusion and coupling processes, regulating the crosslinking degree to prevent broad aggregate pores and microporous defects.
