Spring–Summer spatial dynamics of Palomena prasina (L.) and potential IPM strategies. ABSTRACT Palomena prasina (L.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), the green shield bug (GSB), is an important hazelnut pest in Southern Europe. Currently, its control focuses on insecticide spraying during the crop season. We hypothesized that, as for other pentatomid species,

Deciphering the biosynthetic pathways of lichen acids
Summary Depsides and depsidones are polyketide‐derived lichen acids widely distributed in lichen thalli, yet the biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) responsible for their production remain poorly understood. To address this gap, we investigated the diversity and evolutionary relationships of polyketide BGCs in lichens.

Abstract In limb muscles, corticospinal excitability is modulated by motor context, with greater facilitation during movement initiation and dynamic contractions than during sustained isometric activation. Whether this applies to the human diaphragm remains uncertain, given the hybrid automatic‐voluntary control and continuous activity of respiratory ...

Polymorphic transformations in two saturated-unsaturated mixed acid triacylglycerols, SOS (sn-1,3-distearoyl-2-oleoylglycerol) and OSO (sn-1,3-dioleoyl-2-stearoylglycerol), have been studied by FT-IR spectroscopy using deuterated specimens in which ...

Our long‐term observations of the chaparral geophyte Toxicoscordion fremontii, over two decades and through two wildfires, provide information about its life history, while offering insights into potential impacts of altered fire regimes. These herbaceous perennials are long‐lived and flowered only after fires, which occurred decades apart.

Disaggregation of Landslide Risk
Abstract Quantifying and disaggregating landslide risk through probabilistic landslide risk analysis (PLRA) is critical for land use regulation and risk reduction. However, no transferable model for PLRA currently exists that resolves landslide consequences to individual buildings at regional scales.

We analyzed annual overwintering counts in California to understand monarch population fluctuations. Climate and density‐dependent factors explain 64% of annual variability across groves, with density dependence being the primary driver. Within groves, tree characteristics and microclimate significantly influence monarch habitat selection, with ...
