One of the intriguing features of medicine is its ever changing horizon. The etiology of more and more diseases is becoming apparent as the gaps in our accumulated knowledge are bridged. A little over a quarter of a century ago, the first accurate description of osteitis fibrosa cystica was given by von Recklinghausen.
