Bamboo‐Like Whiskers‐Reinforced Bioceramics Accelerate Large Segmental Bone Regeneration via Dual Modulation of Type‐H Vessels and Osteoinduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 37, 3 July 2026.
The graphical abstract image of bamboo‐like whisker‐reinforced Ca‐P bioceramics accelerating large segmental bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Regenerative repair of segmental bone defect remains a major clinical challenge. The conventional mental implants suffer from mechanical strength mismatch and long‐term foreign bodies presence.

Use of Mandibular Distraction Osteogenesis to Correct Micrognathia and Airway Obstruction in Newborn Female

open access: yesMarshall Journal of Medicine, 2022
We present a case of Pierre Robin sequence and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) in a newborn female patient to highlight the surgical technique of mandibular distraction osteogenesis to correct airway obstruction due to micrognathia.

Nonsurgical Correction of Brodie Bite in Mixed Dentition Using Quad‐Helix Expansion: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This case report presents a nonsurgical correction of a dentoalveolar Brodie bite in a mixed dentition patient using a quad‐helix appliance. Mandibular expansion resolved the transverse discrepancy within 3 months, improving occlusion, and eliminating a habitual mandibular shift that had contributed to facial asymmetry.

Step-cut and Butterfly Femoral Osteotomies Following Intraoperative Fracture Propagation during Distraction Osteogenesis: Report of Two Cases

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Case Reports
Introduction: Distraction osteogenesis is usually performed using a low-energy transverse metaphyseal osteotomy. Case Report: We report two cases of femoral lengthening in which unintended fracture propagation resulted in non-straight osteotomy ...

Platelet‐Rich Fibrin Induces New Bone Formation to Promote Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion of Spine in Rabbits

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
Preparation process of PRF and its promotion of intervertebral fusion. The rabbit lateral fusion model proves that PRF can promote the intervertebral fusion rate of allograft bone. In vitro experiments can be observed that PRF promotes the osteogenic expression of BMSCS.

Femoral nonunion with segmental bone defect treated by distraction osteogenesis with monolateral external fixation

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2017
Background Currently, the common treatment for femoral nonunion with large segmental bone defect is difficult and complex. The effective surgical methods are rare, include vascularized bone grafting, Masquelet technique and Ilizarov distraction ...

Uncommon Mechanism of Mangled Lower Limb Trauma: Case Report of Salvaged Leg Post Gear Box Explosion Injury

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Mangled limb injuries, typically caused by high‐energy trauma, present significant challenges in surgical decision‐making, particularly when considering limb salvage versus primary amputation. While common mechanisms include vehicular or industrial accidents, unconventional etiologies are rarely documented. We report a unique case of a 43‐year‐
