Sustainable bioceramics, biopolymers, and composites for bone applications: From bench to production
Abstract In response to environmental challenges and primary resource scarcity, sustainable approaches that rely on recycling and reusing waste materials are becoming highly valuable and appealing options in modern society. These strategies have started being applied in biomaterials science, too, leading to the advent of new synergies between ...

Experimental results demonstrate that both solid bone cement blocks and bone cement in a dispersed state within bone tissue can be screwed in after thermal softening of the bone cement through Kirschner wires, achieving a good pull‐out resistance. ABSTRACT Objective Vertebroplasty with non‐degradable polymethyl methacrylate bone cement is a common ...

Preoperative NT‐proBNP is strongly associated with both postoperative complications and 2‐year all‐cause mortality among patients who received hip fracture surgery. Higher levels of NT‐proBNP before surgery may serve as a useful biomarker for risk stratification and guiding treatment decisions for this patient subpopulation.
