Exercise Modulates the Osteoimmune Axis: Myokine‐Mediated Mechanisms in Diabetic Bone Disease

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 7, October 2026.
Exercise activates skeletal muscle to release myokines (irisin, acute IL‐6, IL‐15 and BAIBA) and suppress myostatin, which may help counteract T2DM‐induced hyperglycemia, AGE accumulation, chronic inflammation and osteoimmune imbalance, potentially contributing to improved bone quality and reduced fracture risk.

Towards a unified approach: Standardising radiological diagnosis and grading of vertebral compression fractures

open access: yesAnnals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore
Vertebral fragility fractures are a common cause of morbidity in osteoporotic patients. Despite their association with a high risk of future fractures, significant morbidity and increased mortality after fracture, they often do not receive adequate ...

Spinal Endoscopy for Delayed-Onset Lumbar Radiculopathy Resulting from Foraminal Stenosis after Osteoporotic Vertebral Fracture: A Case Report of a New Surgical Strategy

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics, 2018
There is little evidence regarding the optimal approach to treatment for delayed-onset lumbar radiculopathy due to foraminal stenosis after osteoporotic vertebral fracture. Here, we describe the use of spinal endoscopy for the treatment of this disabling

Global Alignment and Proportion (GAP) Score in Predicting Mechanical Complications After Long‐Segment Fixation for Chinese Geriatric Patients With Adult Degenerative Scoliosis: A Mid‐Term Comparative Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 18, Issue 10, Page 2195-2204, October 2026.
In our study, we found that the GAP score could effectively predict the risk of mechanical complications after long‐segment fixation surgery in geriatric ADS patients. ABSTRACT Objectives The predictive value of the global alignment and proportion (GAP) score in the Chinese geriatric population, which has unique demographic and degenerative ...
