Detection and discrimination between ochratoxin producer and non-producer strains of Penicillium nordicum on a ham-based medium using an electronic nose [PDF]
The aim of this work was to evaluate the potential use of qualitative volatile patterns produced by Penicillium nordicum to discriminate between ochratoxin A (OTA) producers and non-producer strains on a ham-based medium.

This multicenter study compared subtotal versus completion gastrectomy for remnant gastric cancer. Subtotal gastrectomy was associated with shorter operative time and significantly less postoperative weight loss, with no difference in long‐term survival, suggesting it as a feasible surgical option without compromising oncologic outcomes.

Inhibition of growth and ochratoxin A production of Aspergillus carbonariu by Bacillus strains isolated from cocoa bean fermentation [PDF]
Ivorian raw cocoa beans are recurrently subject to ochratoxin A (OTA) contamination. The use of chemical and physical means to reduce or prevent the OTA production in cocoa beans is prohibited or inefficient.

OTA-based non-linear function approximations [PDF]
The suitability of operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) as the main active element to obtain basic building blocks for the design of programmable nonlinear continuous-time networks is examined.

Although he was not the first to describe the condition, Ota in 1939 defined this disease as a specific entity, hence the prevailing eponym.1 It is a benign overgrowth of tissues normally found in ...

This review redefines the carotid bulb (CB) as a variable geometric dilation shaped by hemodynamics and the carotid sinus (CS) as a conserved neurohistological baroreceptor field. Distinguishing these entities clarifies a century of anatomical confusion and links geometry, neurohistology, and clinical interpretation within a unified framework ...

Understanding the spacing of placodes in the eye: A comparative study across age and species
Abstract The conjunctival placodes of the avian eye form in an intriguing and conserved sequence in a circular annulus around the cornea. These 13–16 placodes develop into papillae that are essential for inducing underlying intramembranous flat bones, known as scleral ossicles, which form an important part of the ocular skeleton.

PCR-DGGE applied to microbial ecology that influence the production of OTA [PDF]
In tropical zones, OTA is mainly produced in coffee beans by three Aspergillus species: A. carbonarius, A. niger section Nigri and A. ochraceus section Circumdati.
