Prevalence, size and distribution of microdamage in the human otic capsule
CONCLUSIONS: Age-dependent microdamage (MDx) accumulates excessively in human perilabyrinthine bone, where the bone turnover is almost absent. This may have pathological implications for bone-specific disorders such as otosclerosis.
