Search path generation with UAV applications using approximate convex decomposition

open access: yes, 2012
This work focuses on the problem that pertains to area searching with UAVs. Specifically developing algorithms that generate flight paths that are short with- out sacrificing flyability.

Temporal analysis of the least energetic events in pulsar data from observations with the high energy stereoscopic system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
It has been more than 60 years since astronomers turned their attention towards the 7֊ray window (> 100 TeV). Nowadays, 7֊ray astronomy has won its place as a separate branch of astronomy in its own right.

A Near-infrared Search for Helium in the Superluminous Supernova SN 2024ahr

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a detailed study of SN 2024ahr, a hydrogen-poor superluminous supernova (SLSN-I), for which we determine a redshift of z = 0.0861. SN 2024ahr has a peak absolute magnitude of M _g ≈ M _r ≈ −21 mag, rest-frame rise and decline times (50% of ...

From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

A Bi-Objective Evacuation Path Optimization Method Based on Meta-Heuristic Integration [PDF]

open access: yes
Urban underground public spaces are relatively enclosed, with high daily passenger flow and diverse directions. Enhancing evacuation capabilities through dynamic guidance systems is a crucial solution.

Scan paths at three edge habitat recording sites.

open access: yes, 2013
Scanning behavior during three typical flights at each of the three edge habitat recording sites. (A) forest road, (B) farm, (C) garden. The scanning behavior is indicated as pulse-to-pulse scan path of the calculated apparent or real beam maximum on the

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Robot path planning using family of SOR iterative methods with laplacian behaviour-based control [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A truly autonomous robot must have the capability to find path from its start point to a specified goal point. This study proposed a robot path planning technique that relies on the use of Laplace's equation to constrain the generation of potential ...

Microscale Mapping of Fiber Strain and Damage in Composite Wrinkled Laminates Using Computed Tomography Assisted Wide‐Angle X‐Ray Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study combines full‐field tomography with diffraction mapping to quantify radial (ε002$\varepsilon _{002}$) and axial (ε100$\varepsilon _{100}$) lattice strain in wrinkled carbon‐fiber specimens for the first time. Radial microstrain gradients (−14.5 µεMPa$\varepsilon \mathrm{MPa}$−1) are found to signal damage‐prone zones ahead of failure, which ...

Disruption of Treg Homeostasis in Rheumatoid Arthritis via Ferroptosis‐Mediated ETC Collapse and TXK‐STAT3/PLCγ1 Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In rheumatoid arthritis, synovial Tregs accumulate but are functionally impaired due to iron overload‐induced ferroptosis. This triggers mitochondrial dysfunction and TXK tyrosine kinase‐mediated signaling, leading to Treg destabilization and inflammation.
