Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Temporal and spatial outlier detection in wireless sensor networks

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2019
Outlier detection techniques play an important role in enhancing the reliability of data communication in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Considering the importance of outlier detection in WSNs, many outlier detection techniques have been proposed ...

Outlier Elimination for Robust Ellipse and Ellipsoid Fitting

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, an outlier elimination algorithm for ellipse/ellipsoid fitting is proposed. This two-stage algorithm employs a proximity-based outlier detection algorithm (using the graph Laplacian), followed by a model-based outlier detection algorithm ...

MS2OD: outlier detection using minimum spanning tree and medoid selection

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
As an essential task in data mining, outlier detection identifies abnormal patterns in numerous applications, among which clustering-based outlier detection is one of the most popular methods for its effectiveness in detecting cluster-related outliers ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

A Geometric Perspective on Functional Outlier Detection

open access: yesStats, 2021
We consider functional outlier detection from a geometric perspective, specifically: for functional datasets drawn from a functional manifold, which is defined by the data’s modes of variation in shape, translation, and phase.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Outlier Detection Using Nonconvex Penalized Regression

open access: yes, 2010
This paper studies the outlier detection problem from the point of view of penalized regressions. Our regression model adds one mean shift parameter for each of the $n$ data points.
