Real-time damage detection of bridges using adaptive time-frequency analysis and ANN [PDF]
Although traditional signal-based structural health monitoring algorithms have been successfully employed for small structures, their application for large and complex bridges has been challenging due to non-stationary signal characteristics with a high ...

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

In rehabilitation, the Fugl–Meyer assessment (FMA) is a typical clinical instrument to assess upper-extremity motor function of stroke patients, but it cannot measure fine changes of motor function (both in recovery and deterioration) due to its limited ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An output-sensitive algorithm for multi-parametric LCPs with sufficient matrices [PDF]
This paper considers the multi-parametric linear complementarity problem (pLCP) with sufficient matrices. The main result is an algorithm to find a polyhedral decomposition of the set of feasible parameters and to construct a piecewise affine function that maps each feasible parameter to a solution of the associated LCP in such a way that the function ...

This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Chosen Plaintext Combined Attack against SM4 Algorithm
The SM4 algorithm is widely used to ensure the security of data transmission. The traditional chosen plaintext power attacks against SM4 usually need to analyze four rounds power traces in turn to recover the secret key.
