An Output-Sensitive Algorithm for the Minimization of 2-Dimensional String Covers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
String covers are a powerful tool for analyzing the quasi-periodicity of 1-dimensional data and find applications in automata theory, computational biology, coding and the analysis of transactional data. A \emph{cover} of a string $T$ is a string $C$ for which every letter of $T$ lies within some occurrence of $C$.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Real-time damage detection of bridges using adaptive time-frequency analysis and ANN [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering, 2019
Although traditional signal-based structural health monitoring algorithms have been successfully employed for small structures, their application for large and complex bridges has been challenging due to non-stationary signal characteristics with a high ...

Reactive Synthesis: Towards Output-Sensitive Algorithms

open access: yes, 2017
Reactive synthesis is a technology for the automatic construction of reactive systems from logical specifications. In these lecture notes, we study different algorithms for the reactive synthesis problem of linear-time temporal logic (LTL). The classic game-based synthesis algorithm is input-sensitive in the sense that its performance is asymptotically

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Obstacle Avoidance Control of Autonomous Undersea Vehicle Based on DVFH+ in Ocean Current Environment

open access: yes水下无人系统学报
The improved vector field histogram algorithm(VFH+) tends to overlook the autonomous undersea vehicle(AUV) dynamics and ocean current effects, and it is sensitive to threshold selection.

Multi‐objective optimization of a tubular permanent magnet linear generator with 120° phase belt toroidal windings using response surface method and genetic algorithm

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2022
In terms of the characteristics of multi‐objective and interactions among optimization objectives of the tubular permanent magnet linear generator with 120° phase belt toroidal winding (120°‐TPMLG), a multi‐objective optimization method is proposed to ...
