CircCCNB1 inhibits vasculogenic mimicry by sequestering NF90 to promote miR‐15b‐5p and miR‐7‐1‐3p processing in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

Diagnostic dilemma posed by severe pelvic actinomycosis associated with prolonged use of copper intrauterine contraceptive device

open access: yesClinics and Practice, 2011
Actinomycosis has been recognized to be associated with the use of intrauterine contraceptive device. We are reporting a case where a patient with severe pelvic actinomycosis presented with the clinical picture of an ovarian tumour.

Expansion Microscopy‐based imaging for visualization of mitochondria in Drosophila ovarian germline stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, 2022
Recent studies have shown that mitochondrial morphology can modulate organelle function and greatly affect stem cell behavior, thus affecting tissue homeostasis.

A combination containing natural extracts of clove, Sophora flower bud, and yam improves fertility in aged female mice via multiple mechanisms

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
IntroductionWith society development, the age at which women choose to have children has been gradually delayed. To improve the reduced fertility in women at advanced maternal age, we developed a combination containing natural extracts from clove ...

Telomerase in the ovary [PDF]

open access: yesREPRODUCTION, 2010
Telomerase, an enzyme complex that binds the chromosome ends (telomeres) and maintains telomere length and integrity, is present in germ cells, proliferative granulosa cells, germline stem cells, and neoplastic cells in the ovary, but it is absent in differentiated or aged cells. Activation of telomerase in the ovary underpins both benign and malignant

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

Equol: A Microbiota Metabolite Able to Alleviate the Negative Effects of Zearalenone during In Vitro Culture of Ovine Preantral Follicles

open access: yesToxins, 2019
The impact of zearalenone (ZEN) on female reproduction remains an issue, since its effects may differ among exposed cell types. Besides the use of decontaminants in animal diet, other approaches should be considered to minimise ZEN effects after exposure.

A bioinformatics pipeline for the identification of CHO cell differential gene expression from RNA-Seq data [PDF]

open access: yesMethods Mol Biol. 2017;1603:169-186, 2019
In recent years the publication of genome sequences for the Chinese hamster and Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell lines have facilitated study of these biopharmaceutical cell factories with unprecedented resolution. Our understanding of the CHO cell transcriptome, in particular, has rapidly advanced through the application of next-generation sequencing (
