Ontogeny of the ovary in polycystic ovary syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesFertility and Sterility, 2013
Activation of primordial follicles into the growing pool, selection of the dominant follicle, and its eventual ovulation require complex endocrine and metabolic interactions as well as intraovarian paracrine signals to coordinate granulosa cell proliferation, theca cell differentiation, and oocyte maturation. Early preantral follicle development relies

Transcriptome Analysis of Young Ovaries Reveals Candidate Genes Involved in Gamete Formation in Lantana camara

open access: yesPlants, 2019
Lantana (Lantana camara L., Verbenaceae) is an important ornamental crop, yet can be a highly invasive species. The formation of unreduced female gametes (UFGs) is a major factor contributing to its invasiveness and has severely hindered the development ...

Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Ovary

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2006
Objective: Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the ovary is a rare, recently recognized, subtype of ovarian surface epithelial cancer. We present a case of TCC of the ovary, managed by staging operation and followed by postoperative chemotherapy with ...

Single-cell transcriptome reveals insights into the development and function of the zebrafish ovary

open access: yeseLife, 2022
Zebrafish are an established research organism that has made many contributions to our understanding of vertebrate tissue and organ development, yet there are still significant gaps in our understanding of the genes that regulate gonad development, sex ...

Carcinosarcoma of the ovary

open access: yesBritish Journal of Cancer, 2003
We report our experience in the management of patients with carcinosarcoma of the ovary, a rare but aggressive variant of ovarian cancer. Forty patients were treated at a single centre, which is the largest reported series. The median age at diagnosis was 65 years (range 45-86) and the median Karnofsky performance (KP) status was 70.

Carcinosarcoma of the ovary [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecological Cancer, 2008
The objective of this study was to evaluate the treatment and outcome in patients with ovarian carcinosarcoma. The Tumor Board Registry was reviewed for patients with ovarian carcinosarcoma treated at our institution from June 1993 to December 2004. The medical records were retrospectively analyzed with emphasis on cytoreduction, cytotoxic regimens ...
