ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Analysis of circRNA and miRNA expression profiles in IGF3-induced ovarian maturation in spotted scat (Scatophagus argus)

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
Insulin-like growth factor 3 (IGF3) induces ovarian maturation in teleosts; however, research on its molecular regulatory mechanism remains deficient. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs) are involved in various biological processes, including

Polycystic ovary syndrome [PDF]

open access: yesMedicine, 1989
This case illustrates the very common endocrine problem of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The diagnosis was not clear initially because of the absence of clinical evidence of androgen excess and of a normal random serum luteinizing hormone (LH) concentration.

Time, the final frontier

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.

Hormonal, metabolic, and Vitamin D status variabilities among Saudi women with polycystic ovarian syndrome versus nonpolycystic ovarian syndrome controls: A retrospective study

open access: yesSaudi Journal for Health Sciences, 2022
Background: Vitamin D deficiency in Saudi Arabia is alarmingly high and can affect all human ages. However, the characteristic hormonal and metabolic features, and the systemic Vitamin D levels, among Saudi women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS ...

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): Making Sense of the Alphabet

open access: yesJournal of the Dow University of Health Sciences, 2011
PCOS is the commonest endocrinopathy of reproductive yearswith a quoted prevalence of 5-11%, depending uponpopulations studied.1 Despite being a liberally diagnosed, thedisorder remains relatively poorly understood.

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.
