An electronic over-current relay for electrical machines

Proceedings of the IEE Part A: Power Engineering, 1956
The paper describes an electronic relay designed to protect electrical machines under over. current conditions. The advantages of this device over conventional thermal and magnetic protective relays are outlined, and methods of connection for single- and multi-phase working are discussed.

Design of Numerical Relay for Over Flux and Over Current Protection in Transformers

2018 Internat2018 International Conference on Computation of Power, Energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC)ional conference on computation of power, energy, Information and Communication (ICCPEIC), 2018
A “Numerical Relay” is a type of protective relay which operates when the line parameters exceed a preset value. This paper is used to design and develop a protection system for transmission line which automatically respond to the over flux and over current fault based on the DMT and IDMT in which the current is measured using SI, VI, and EI ...

Excess-current protection by over-current relays on medium-voltage circuits

Journal of the Institution of Electrical Engineers - Part II: Power Engineering, 1945
The paper reviews existing methods of protection from excess load current in medium-voltage circuits, and outlines problems encountered with the wide variation of industrial applications. The need is stressed for full co-operation between engineers, and also between engineers and the user, in the control-gear, motor and distribution fields.

Development of a New Over-current/Under-current Relay Testing Kit

Electric Power Components and Systems, 2009
Abstract As the protective gear is solely concerned with fault conditions and cannot readily be tested under normal system operating conditions, the testing of protective schemes has always been a problem. This situation has been aggravated in recent years by the complexity of protective schemes and relays. In this article, a new, but economical, relay

Coordination of over-current relays for cascaded parallel feeder

7th IET International Conference on Advances in Power System Control, Operation and Management (APSCOM 2006), 2006
This paper presents an idea of the relay coordination for cascaded parallel feeders fed from both ends as if it were a part of the interconnected power system. The criterion for setting of the relays in radial feeder is not exactly applicable to the parallel feeders fed from both the ends.
