Design of Passive Filter for Three-level Medium-voltage Converter

open access: yesKongzhi Yu Xinxi Jishu, 2015
Medium-voltage converters use long cable to connect the inverter to the motor side in middle and long distance pulse width modulation driving system, which brings some notable adverse effects simultaneously such as PWM pulse over-voltage and common mode ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Lightning Over-voltages in Nuclear Power Plants

open access: yes, 2019
When lightning strikes to the transmission towers, the equipment and the network components are jeopardized by the over-voltages. If the over-voltage magnitudes are more than the basic insulation level (BIL) of the equipment, irreversible damages occur ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Probabilistic analysis and risk traceability of over-voltage for distribution networks based on global probabilistic voltage sensitivity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Highly penetrated distributed generations exacerbate over-voltage and increase the difficulty of voltage safety analysis in distribution networks. This study proposes a method for over-voltage probabilistic analysis and risk traceability based on global ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Performance Evaluation of Different NEMA Induction Motor Designs under the Effect of Unbalanced Supply Voltages

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences
Three-phase induction motors (IMs) are generally used in commercial, industrial, and domestic applications due to their advantages, such as good self-starting ability, simplicity, high reliability, cost-effectiveness, low maintenance, and ruggedness in ...

Experimental investigations of temporary over voltages

open access: yesFacta universitatis - series: Electronics and Energetics, 2002
In this paper experimentally determined temporary over voltages in the electrical power system of Yugoslavia due to: earth faults, load droppings performances with incomplete phases, Ferranti effects, switching-in unloaded transformers, energizations of overhead lines terminated with unloaded transformers and another switching operations are considered.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
