Although too much iron in the brain promotes neurodegeneration, iron ion chelators have had mixed effects in clinical trials. This review explains why; some chelators do not render the iron redox‐inactive (e.g., L1) whereas others do (e.g., desferrioxamine).

Mechanism of dynamic load of longwall mining under shallow room mining goaf
In order to explore the control mechanism of pressure appearing in the lower coal seam of shallow-buried coal bed with room mining goaf, to reduce the dynamic pressure of the working face through the room mining goaf, and to mitigate the risk caused by ...

Subsidence Prediction of Overburden Strata and Surface Based on the Voussoir Beam Structure Theory [PDF]
The hard and stiff strata (key strata) bear the overburden load in the form of a voussoir beam structure (VBS) after break. The VBS affects both the surface subsidence and the stope underground pressure. Therefore, the reasonable method to predict the surface subsidence is based on the whole subsidence formulae of the VBS.

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Study on evolution law of overburden structure based on microseismic distribution characteristics
There are several key layers with large thickness above the 402 working face of wide coal pillar in Hongqinghe Coal Mine. The existence of key layers will significantly increase the peak value of abutment pressure and its influence range. Based on the microseismic distribution characteristics of 402 working face are analyzed based on microseismic ...

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...
