The effects of harmonics on overcurrent protection devices
Conference Record of the 1990 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2002Harmonic distortion and its effects on current waveforms are reviewed. The problems produced by higher order harmonics, hysteresis losses in the transformers' cores, and the currents' high crest factors are discussed. Several solutions to the effects of harmonic distortion on overcurrent devices such as circuit breakers, fuses, and relays are presented,

Overcurrent protection in shipboard electrical systems
Electrical Engineering, 1958AS SHIPBOARD POWER DEMANDS have increased, it has been necessary to install more and larger generators aboard ship. It has been found that the most reliable and flexible system can be attained by arranging the bus ties in such a manner that they form a closed loop if all bus tie circuit breakers were closed.
